About John “JK” Kenworthy

Park City is a magical place we all call home. But today, friends of the truth know—we face serious challenges that threaten our way of life.

From childcare to senior care, from affordable housing to traffic and transit, our community needs leaders who solve problems—not push them down the road. I’m a proven problem solver, with results right here in Summit and Wasatch Counties—not in some far-off city or state.

Real Solutions in the Private Sector:
I built River’s Edge Resort and Campground, which housed over 4,500 seasonal workers from 2008 to 2024—without a single government subsidy. True problem solvers are fiscally responsible.

Proven Results in Public Service:
As a Park City Planning Commissioner, I helped lead the effort that delivered 208 affordable housing units at Studio Crossing—now under construction—at no cost to Park City taxpayers. That’s proof that when we listen to the community and work with experts, we can make the “impossible” happen.

Protecting Our Historic Heart:
As Chair of the Historic Preservation Board, I championed the projects that preserved the character of Main Street—including the Park Avenue and Library transformations. I know firsthand that our history isn’t just sentimental—it’s an economic engine and Park City’s competitive edge.

Rooted in Park City’s Story:
In 2008, I opened Flanagan’s on Main, an Irish pub honoring Father Edward J. Flanagan—the immigrant priest who founded Boys Town and gave orphans like my grandfather a home and a future. That legacy of inclusion and social justice inspires me to this day.

Park City belongs to its people. Together, we can solve any challenge. My leadership comes from listening, learning, and acting—not talking.

It’s time to take Park City back. Let’s get ’er done.
